Weddings

A marriage is about two people coming together to celebrate and declare their love for each other forever. Wedding days come in in all shapes and sizes and we work hard to capture the day, as unobtrusively as possible, to create a collection of photographs that document the day with candid captures as well as traditional formal portraits. No matter the size we have a tailored service for you.

Robert David works with clients through the build-up to your wedding day with an engagement or pre-wedding shoot, and discovery meetings, where style and specifics are discussed. Nothing is left to chance so that on the big day you can relax in the knowledge that we will be there to capture it all.

Style

While every wedding is different there are always similar elements to each. Many couples are opting for less formal posed shots and going for a more relaxed, documentary of candid style for their weddings. I blend the two together.

Throughout your day I try to remain as unobtrusive as possible and aim to capture the day as it unfolds with all the love, joy and emotion that it brings. Yes, there are the formal poses and groups shots, but they are often expected as much by the wedding party and guests as they are the couple getting married.

Your Investment

Every photographer has their own style and finding the one with the style you want but also one that you get along with and can trust is a process that is worth investing your time in. Your investment in the lasting memories of your special day is an important one and not to be taken lightly. We offer a simple pricing model which empowers you to make the right investment in your wedding photography.

All-day coverage
Post-lockdown offer – £600* (usually £950)

What is included in the package?

  • A full pre-wedding consulation that ensures we’re all signing from the same hymn sheet
  • Wedding day coverage from bridal preperations to the first dance (usually around 10 to 12 hours)
  • Up to 100 miles of travel from our base in YO62.
  • An on-line gallery of your expertly finished photos from the day (usually 300 – 500 photographs)
  • Presentation media containing your finished photographs, ready to print with a full print license

We will work to produce a collection of fully edited photographs that will serve as a beautiful lasting memory of your wedding day. We never promise a set number of photographs as no two weddings are the same and each with an ever-changing set of circumstances, but be sure that you will receive an excellent collection typically of around 300 – 500 fully edited photographs.

You are not only investing my time on the day but also my time in working to curate the perfect collection of images that are a true reflection of your special day. Oftentimes, the post-wedding processing phase can take a great many hours of careful work to ensure you receive only the best photographs.

Other things to consider

Engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot

An engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot can be the ideal opportunity for a couple and their wedding photographer to get to know each other. Sometimes a couple isn’t used to posing for the camera and this session can be highly beneficial to be more relaxed about it on the big day.

Typically these shoots last about 90 minutes and we can even build it into our pre-wedding consultation. You’ll receive up to 10 fully edited photographs via digital transfer.

Questions you many have

Feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have. Here are some of the most common I receive.

How many photos will we receive?

Every wedding is different and therefore it’s impossible to put a limit on how many photos will be delivered from a wedding. At any job I undertake, I strive for quality over quantity and the best estimate for a full day of wedding coverage is between 300 and 500 photographs.

How long will you stay at our wedding?

All timings for your wedding day will have been discussed at our pre-wedding consultation. I arrive for the bridal preparations and typically leave sometime after your first dance. But I am flexible to your requirements so I’ll never quote a set number of hours and nor will I ever charge extra once a certain time is reached. I have a single package that is all day and all your wedding captured.

How are the timescales for receiving our wedding photos?

Typically I will send you some key shots within the first week after your wedding day for you to share with family and friends. Your whole collection of expertly finished wedding photographs will be ready around 4 weeks after the big day.

How far do you travel?

I typically photograph North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire weddings. Common places for me to work oare Helmsley, Pickering, Malton, Kirkbymoorside, Hovingham, Scarborough, Thirsk and many other places.

I have no limit on how far I travel to cover a wedding. The price quoted above includes my travel up to 100 miles from my base in the YO62 area which means I cover a hug area. Travel above 100 miles is charged at 45p per mile plus any expenses.

When do we pay for our wedding photography?

Again, we keep it simple. When you have decided to engage me as your wedding photographer we’ll sign a contract of service and there’s a non-refundable £250 booking fee payable. The remaining balance of £700 is due 14 days prior to your wedding day.

Can we print our wedding photos?

Absolutely! Your presentation media contains all your edited wedding photographs in full, printable, resolution. I also include a print license in case your lab requires it.

Do you produce an ablum?

While my all-day package doesn’t include an album I can discuss with you various album options that can be added to the package.
